Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Per pale Gules and Sable, two 40 mm gun muzzles issuant from dexter and sinister base saltirewise between in chief a fleur-de-lis and in base a pheon all Or.  Attached below the shield is a Gold scroll inscribed "MEET OUR THUNDER" in Black.

Symbolism
The service of the former organization, the 235th Artillery, is indicated by the color black which is representative of former Tank Destroyer units and the origin of the organization-635th Tank Destroyer Battalion.  The gun muzzles are symbolic of Antiaircraft Artillery.  The fleur-de-lis is for service in Europe during World War II and the pheon emphasizes the assault landing at Normandy.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 135th Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion on 16 July 1952.  It was redesignated for the 235th Artillery Regiment on 3 April 1961.  It was redesignated with the description and symbolism revised for the 235th Regiment on 25 July 1997.
